Recent, Great Discoveries

I love 'happening upon' great discoveries, whether it be a song, a person, a place, a new food concoction, a scripture, a book or a poem...and really, the list could go on for quite some time.

This week's discoveries are:

Wraps. Delicious. Healthy. Filling. I bought these Spinach Garden Vegetable wraps and rolled it up with a thin thin layer of cream cheese with pepper, ham, shredded cheese, tomatoes and avocado. It was divine.

Co-Workers. Ok, so this is more like a re-discovery. I really do love the people I work with, they are all so great, fun and kind. Some of the guys in the warehouse are like brothers to me (mostly because they have found that I'm 100% fun to tease...why?!), and the girls in the front office are good friends. One of my co-workers who moved to St. George will be coming up this weekend and I can't wait! I'm lucky to know all of these great people (even if they ALWAYS want my cheese chex mix, or ask me if I've baked any cookies lately...!).

Scriptures. A friend of mine and I were talking, and we started talking about wishing and the 'impossible', and just life and it's ironies and intricacies. He shared a scripture with me and I love it!

It's found in Genesis 18:14

"Is anything too hard for the Lord?..."

Such a great reminder...

And then there's this:

"Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth;

believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth;

believe that man doth not comprehend all things

which the Lord can comprehend."

{Mosiah 4:9}

Which lead me to look at Isaiah 55:8-11

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,

saith the LORD.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways

higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,

and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth,

and maketh it bring

forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower,

and bread to the eater:

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:

it shall not return unto me void,

but it shall accomplish that which I please,

and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

I just loved how it speaks about the Lord's ways and thoughts being higher than ours and then compares it to the rain and snow and how it benefits and profits the earth and all around it. The rains and snows in our lives may seem difficult, or seem to blur our vision of what's in store, but this scripture, for me, is a great reminder that it all is in our favor, it is for our good. Little by little...line upon line and precept upon precept, we learn. We will see in the end when it clears and melts away that something beautiful has bloomed because of it.
