Remember recess in elementary school? I couldn't wait for recess...time to jump rope! I knew all those silly songs. And all of us girls would run to the basket full of basketballs, soccer balls...just to wait for all the boys to take those out and leave us the goodies at the bottom. Oh, jump ropes were our favorites! We would line up and take turns jumping. Competition was in the air: who could jump the longest? Who would be the champion of the playground in the jump rope Olympics? Right when you think you've got it, one of those handles is loosened from someone's grasp and whack! Your little bare leg, the part uncovered by your cotton spandex shorts, is slapped! No need to worry. They start again. And before you know it, you can't concentrate and clank! You didn't jump soon enough...those little plastic segments covering the rope has clapped your skin! That never felt too great.
Oh, it sure if fun(ny) thinking of those days where jumping rope and having 30-60 doctors coming in to fix your snake bite (seeing that the fellow you went to kiss upstairs was mistaken for that dreadfully awful snake! Blast!) was the best feeling in the world!
