"That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it,
and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves
even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in,
in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily,
for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you."
Alma 34 : 38
What a wonderful thing it is that Thanksgiving comes before Christmas - it truly does prepare us and our hearts and spirits for that season and its true meaning. Gratitude should come first. After we recognize the "many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow" upon us, we can more appropriately and more fully celebrate those gifts, His life He lived and still lives and how it all is directly linked and connected to who and what we are, what we have been given and what we can give to others.
